Nóta 11/3/15

Éadaí don aimsir/ Weather appropriate clothing.                      Nóta 11/3/15

Bí cinnte go bhfuil éadaí oiriúnach don aimsir ag do pháiste.

Parents should ensure that their children have the appropriate weather gear coming to school. A large number of children now wear oil leggings and boots to school on wet days and these children then enjoy a comfortable day at school dressed in dry clothing.

Páirceáil/Parking

Táimid arís ag lorg tacaíochta agus co-oibriú ó gach éinne atá ag fágaint nó ag bailiú páistí ón mbóthar lasmuigh den scoil.  Tá baol ann go mbeidh timpiste ann agus go ngortófar páiste lá éigin de bharr mionlach beag daoine nách bhfuil ag leanúint an córas atá á mholadh againn.  Iarraimid oraibh tacú linn na páistí a choimeád slán mar a deintear de ghnáth.

Please ensure that those collecting and dropping children at school are aware of and observe the school rules re parking. These rules are particularly important in bad weather.

Parking is not allowed on the green area across from the school or on that side of the road at all. We ask that all parents consider the various needs of residents living on Murmont Avenue by respecting their right to easy access to their houses by not parking directly in front of their driveway.  Parents who need to turn their cars are asked to drive down past the entrance of our school  and to find a safe place to do so. NEVER turn your car at the school entrance.

The area of road between the two speedbumps directly outside the school has been designated as a set-down area only by the school. Parents are asked to stop their cars, help their children to safely exit the vehicle and to drive off again as the child in question walks into school. Cars are NOT to park for a long period in this area in the mornings as to do so would cause huge traffic problems.

No parents are allowed to drive down the driveway and into the schoolyard unless they have express permission to do so by the Board of Management.

Our caretaker Bertie stands out at the entrance to the school from time to time in the mornings to monitor the situation and to help if possible.  Bertie has a difficult job to do especially in bad weather conditions. Parents and child-minders are aware of the school rules and can expect to be stopped from driving down the Avenue. Bertie is there, primarily for our children’s sake.

We do not want to have to address this issue when a small child is knocked down and injured.
