Please ensure that anyone collecting children are aware of the following.

Míle buíochas dóibh siúd ar fad atá ag cabhrú le cúrsaí tráchta taobh amuigh den scoil gach lá. Táimid ar fad ag obair le chéile chun a chinntiú gurbh áit sábháilte í Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn d’ár bpáistí ar fad.

Many thanks to all who have helped to keep traffic flowing outside our school every morning. We are working together to ensure the safety of all associated with our school – ESPECIALLY our children. Please abide by the following…..

  1. Please do not turn your car outside our school as it’s very dangerous for obvious reasons. Please drive somewhere safer to turn your car if that needs to be done.
  2. Residents in Murmont circle have highlighted various issues in relation to the volume of traffic in the estate at certain times during the day. We’re currently trying to assist them (and parents) with issues relating to same and we’ve asked Bertie to keep an eye on the situation.
  3. We ask all parents and especially children not to use the entrance/exit via the carpark / near the barrier.
  4. Parents are asked to wear facemasks at all times when on school grounds.

Craft fair – cancelled / Margadh Geimhridh na scoile 2020 – ar cheal.

Faraor, níl an tarna rogha againn ach Margadh Geimhridh na scoile a chur ar cheal i mbliana. Beimid ar ais arís le Margadh Geimhridh níos mó agus níos fearr i 2021!

Unfortunately, we have no option but to cancel our school’s annual Christmas craft fair this year. We look forward to returning once again with an even bigger / better winter fair in December 2021!

Winter clothing / Éadaí agus an aimsir!

As we now face into the winter season, we would strongly recommend that parents invest in appropriate wet weather items of clothing for their children. Experience has taught us that children with plastic rain pants and rain jackets on wet, stormy days are the happiest children in the school!!!

Also, please be aware that doors and windows in classrooms are being left open (as much as is possible) as part of our school Covid plan, please ensure that your child has adequate clothing – particularly on cold mornings.

Covid 19

Ba mhaith liom mo bhuíochas a ghabháil díobh go léir as ucht an tacaíocht a thug sibh dúinn ó laethanta saoire an tsamhraidh. Tá Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn ag feidhmiú go breá faoi láthair agus táimid thar agus a bheith sásta go bhfuil na páistí ar ais ar scoil agus go bhfuilimid ábalta réimhse beag d’ár sean-saol nádúrtha a chur ar fáil dóibh sa scoil.

Níl a fhios againn go fóill faoin méid atá amach romhainn ach beidh foireann scoile Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn chomh ullmhaithe agus is féidir a bheith.

* nuair a bhí mé ag scríobh an nóta seo mhol NPHET don rialtas an tír ar fad a chur faoi leibhéil 5 arís. Nílímid cinnte cad go díreach a chiallaíonn sé seo do scoileanna ach b’fhearr dúinn ar fad a bheith ullmhaithe. Tá sé soiléir go bhfuil an rialtas ag iarraidh na scoileanna a coiméad ar oscailt …… ach n’fheadar.

I would like to thank you all for the support that you have shown your school since we reopened. Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn is currently functioning very well. We’re delighted that the children are back at school and that we have succeeded in bringing back a small degree of normality to these strange times.

We’re unsure as to what the future holds for us but staff members in Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn will be as prepared as possible.

*as I was writing this note NPHET recommended moving the entire country to level 5……we’re unsure as to what the implications of this would have for schools but we must all be prepared. It does look as if schools will remain open if at all possible…but I don’t know, things are changing very quickly.

Bíodh saoire slán sábhálta agaibh ar fad. (Have a safe holiday).
