Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn now has a beautiful website (Go raibh míle maith agat Katrien!) which is both informative and helps facilitates the parents of our school in various ways – Paypal, school notes, information from the classrooms, photos or videos of recent events etc. Interested parents can also sign up to receive all school notes directly into their inbox. A new tab for the parents association is currently under construction and this will detail the work of the association and help highlight upcoming events. Please keep a regular check on www.gortalainn.ie for details of all events.
Páirceáil. Parking
Fuair an scoil glaoch maidir le carranna a bheith páirceáilte ós comhar tithe le muintir na háite le déanaí. Ní raibh an duine crosta ná drochbhéasach ach bhí sí ag léiriú na fadhbanna a bhíonn aici agus í ag iarraidh teacht/imeacht óna dtigh. Cé go bhfuil cúrsaí tráchta go maith sa scoil faoi láthair, fós táimid ag iarraidh ar dhaoine na rialacha scoile a leanúint agus na carranna a pháirceáil ar thaobh na scoile amháin agus gan AON charr a fhágaint ar an dtaobh eile den bhóthar – is cuma más ar an bhféar ná ós comhair na tithe.
The school received a phone call recently from a member of the local community regarding cars being parked in front of their house, limiting their access to their drive/house. The person that contacted the school was simply outlining the problems she faces whilst trying to access her driveway/house at certain times during the day. Although the traffic situation in general is quite good outside the school, thanks to the positive attitude of the parents of Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn, we would still like to remind everybody of the importance of respecting the rules as set out by the school. We would once again like to remind all parents to park cars on the school side of the road and not to park any cars on the other side of the road (neither on the grass nor in front of the houses). This rule, more than any other, has helped to keep traffic free flowing every morning/evening.
