Athoscailt Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn

Nóta #2               15/08/2020

Gaeilge

Tá súil againn go bhfuil sibh go léir go maith.

Beidh Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn á athoscailt do gach éinne ar an Déardaoin 27 Lúnasa.

Tá athsocailt na scoile ag braith ar gach duine ag glacadh freagrachta agus ag comhoibriú le chéile chun gach éinne sa scoil a choimeád slán sabháilte. Táimid ag foghlaim le chéile faoin réaltacht nua agus chun cinntiú go gcloímid le treoirlínte na Roinne, tá roinnt athraithe le déanamh againn.

Glanadh: Tá glanadh domhain ar siúl faoi láthair agus beidh troscán breise á bhogadh chun cabhrú le leagan amach na seomraí ionas go féidir meithleacha a chur i bhfeidhm sna seomraí ranga chun scaradh fisiceach a choimeád fé mar atá molta ag na treoirlínte.

Curraclam: Mar atá molta ag an Roinn Oideachais, nuair a fillimid thar nais ar scoil, beidh béim faoi leith á chur againn ar fholláin na bpáistí tríd an clár OSPS chomh maith le béim ar theanga, ar mhata agus ar chorp oideachais.

Is féidir leis na páistí dul díreach isteach sna seomraí ranga ag 8:35 agus beidh feitheoireacht ar siúl go dtí go dtosnaíonn na ranganna ag 8:50.

Nósanna am Sosa: Beidh amanna sosa á agú againn. Beidh áit faoi leith leagtha amach sa chlós dos na ranganna ionas nach mbeidh meascán ranganna ar siúl.

Éide Scoile / Éide Spóirt: Chun cabhrú le héide scoile a ghlanadh/ athrú, beidh cead ag na páistí an éide a chaitheamh ar gach dara lá. Beidh éide spóirt á chaitheamh ag na ranganna thíos staighre i.e. Naíonáin Bheaga, Naíonáin Mhóra, Rang 1 agus Rang 2 gach Luan, Céadaoin, Aoine agus beidh an éide scoile á chaitheamh acu gach Máirt agus Déardaoin. Beidh éide scoile á chaitheamh ag na ranganna in airde staighre i.e. Rang 3, Rang 4, Rang 5 & Rang 6 gach Luan, Céadaoin, Aoine agus beidh an éide spóirt á chaitheamh acu gach Máirt agus Déardaoin.

Ciseán /Bosca: Caithfidh gach páiste ciseán nó bosca a thabhairt isteach. Caithfidh sé a bheith láidir a dhóthain chun leabhair A4 , téacsleabhair, cóipleabhair agus achmhainní pearsanta na bpáistí a stóráil faoi bhord na bpáistí. Ní cóir go mbeadh an bosca nó ciseán níos mó ná 24 liotar ar mhéid de bharr easpa spáis.

Mála Níocháin: Caithfidh na páistí mála beag níocháin a bheith acu ar scoil. Is leor mála beag sip dhúntóir le ainm na bpáiste air. Ba chóir paicéad ciarsúir, buidéal pearsanta díghalrán láimhe, masc (níl masc riachtanach áfach) a bheith istigh sa mhála seo. Beidh gallúnach agus díghalrán láimhe ar fáil sa scoil ar aon chaoi.

Cás Peann Luaidhe: Moltar go mbeadh cás peann luaidhe scoile ag gach páiste. Ní chóir sé go mbeadh sé ró-mhór mar beidh sé á choimeád sa chiseán chun na boird a bheith follamh don ghlanadh laethúil. Buntáiste eile le seo ná nach mbeadh na málaí scoile ró throm ag teacht isteach ar maidin. Ní bheidh cead ag na páistí acmhainní féin a roinnt ar nós pinn luaidhe, scriosán, siosúr 7rl. Ba chóir go mbeadh ceann baile ann leis ionas gur féidir tascanna agus obairbhaile a dhéanamh i ndiaidh am scoile

Gníomhachtaí Iarscoile: Fé mar is eol daoibh, ní bheidh aon ranganna ar siúl i ndiaidh am scoile i Mí Meán Fómhair. Ní bheidh aon seirbhís cúram leanaí iar-scoile ar siúl ach oiread. Deinfear é seo a phlé i dtreo deireadh na míosa agus cuirfear ar an eolas sibh.

Cruinniú Zoom: Eagrófar cruinniú Zoom ar an Aoine 21 Lúnasa ag 11:00 le tuistí páistí le cúramaí breise agus le páistí le CRS. Seoltar breis eolais faoi gcruinniú amach anseo.

Tusití le buarthaí: Má ta buairt faoi leith ag aon tuismitheoir, is féidir dul i dteangmhail leis an scoil. Deintear iad seo a phlé tar-éis an 20 Lúnasa.

Is cosúil go bhfuil sibh mar thuistí tar-éis filleadh ar scoil a phlé le bhur bpáistí. Seans go mbeadh suim agaibh sa sliocht thíos ó chlár raidió RTÉ le Sarah McInerney agus go mbeadh sé cabhrach daoibh.

Taimid uilig ag iarraidh go mbeidh athoscailt scoile slán, sabháilte againn. Tá obair ar siúl sa scoil ó Mheitheamh ar aghaidh. Déanfaidh an Bord Bainistíochta gach rud gur féidir leo chun sláinte agus sábháilteacht na bpáistí agus na forine a chinntiú. Táimid ag súil go mór fáilte a chur roimh na páistí, tuistí agus an fhoireann ar fad inár bhfoirgneamh álainn nua. Beidh níos mó oibre ar siúl againn ar na pleananna athoscailte, ar na bealaí teacht isteach agus ar na nósanna imeachta. Seolfar ant-eolas seo chugaibh ar an Máirt 25 Lúnasa.

Go dtí sin, mile buíochas daoibh as ucht bhur dtacaíocta agus bhur bhfoighne.

Coimeád slán agus sabháilte,

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Deaglán, Maebh & Foireann uile na scoile

Athoscailt Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn

Nóta #2               15/08/2020

A Chairde,

I hope that you and your family are well.

On Thursday 27th August 2020, Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn will reopen for all pupils.

The successful reopening of schools and our success in meeting the challenges ahead relies on every individual taking responsibility and working together to keep everyone in our school safe.

As we come to terms with our new reality and to ensure that we fully comply with the guidelines, as set out by the Department of Education’s roadmap, several changes will need to be implemented.

Cleaning:

The school will undergo a deep clean and excess furniture will be removed from rooms in order to facilitate the layout of the classrooms for the introduction of pods within classes and to facilitate physical distancing as per the guidelines.

Curriculum:

On the return to school the focus will be, as per the Department’s Guidelines, on your child’s wellbeing through our SPHE programme and on the core subject areas of language, numeracy and PE.

Morning Routine: Our school gates will open at 8.30 am. (not before as current government guidelines mean we should not have children from different classes mixing in the school yard). School children can walk straight into their classroom at 8.35 and they will be supervised there until school starts at 8:50.

Breaktime Procedures:

Breaktimes will be staggered. Each class (bubble) will have a designated area in the yard ensuring that there will be no mixing of classes (bubbles).

School Tracksuit/Uniform:

In order to facilitate regular washing/changing, we have decided that on alternate days, the children shall wear their school tracksuit and uniform on the following days. Naíonáin Bheaga up to Rang 2, the classes on the groundfloor, will wear tracksuits on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on Tuesday and Thursday will wear their uniforms.

Rang 3, 4, 5, 6, the classes upstairs, will wear their uniforms on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and their tracksuits on Tuesday and Thursday.

Basket / Box: We ask that all children bring in a durable and sturdy box or basket that will accommodate A4 books, other textbooks and copies as well as resources under the children’s table. This box/basket must not exceed a 24 litre capacity due to storage issues within the classroom.

Wash Bag:

We ask that children have their own little washbag, a labelled zip locked bag is sufficient. In these bags, we ask that children bring in their own small personal hand sanitiser, a small packet of tissues, a facemask (optional). The school will of course provide hand sanitiser in each classroom and soap for the washing of hands.

Pencil Case:

Children are asked to have a ‘school’ pencil case which is always left in school. This pencil case should be compact so that it will fit in the basket under the desk with textbooks and copies to facilitate daily cleaning of tabletops. Children should also have a ‘home’ pencil case for completing assignments and homework at home. This measure will have the bonus of lightening the schoolbags also. Children will not be able to share pencils, pens, erasers, coloured pencils etc. in school.

After School activities:

As previously stated, all after school activities, including our own after school childcare service, are cancelled for the month of September. This will be reassessed towards the end of September and parents will be kept informed of any changes.

Parents with Concerns / Zoom Meeting:                                                                                          A meeting via Zoom will take place to discuss arrangements with parents of high-risk children and children availing of SNA access. This meeting will take place on Friday August 21st at 11:00 am and parents will be contacted with the details of this meeting accordingly.

Anyone with particular issues that are causing them concern are asked to EMAIL the school. These issues will be addressed after Thursday 20th August, in line with recommended best practice at that time.

I am sure that you have had lots of chats with your child regarding the return to school. You might, however, find the following extract from a recent interview on RTE’s Sarah McInerney Programme, helpful. https://www.rte.ie/radio/utils/share/radio1/21813784

We are working hard to ensure our school will be as safe as possible when we return. Much work had taken place prior to the release of the roadmap and planning has been in motion since June. Please know that the BOM will do all it can to ensure the health and safety of every pupil and staff member and we look forward to welcoming you all back to our lovely new school on August 27th. We will continue to work on our plans and update you as they are confirmed which will include both entry and exit procedures for the children. Details of this will be sent home on Tuesday August 25th.

In the meanwhile, thank you for your continued patience and support.

Stay safe and take care,

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Deaglán, Maebh & Foireann uile na scoile

A final note will be sent out in relation to the reopening of our school will be sent out on Tuesday 25th August. Please email gaelscoilga@gortalainn.ie if there are any matters that you feel need to be addressed.
