Nóta scoile 23/10/17

Nóta 23/10/17

Ní beidh Leath lá ann ar an hAoine 27 Deireadh Fómhair

De bharr na laethanta ar fad a chailleamar an tseachtain seo caite, ní bheidh aon leath lá sa scoil againn ar an Aoine seo chugainn. Beidh ár scoil dúnta ag an gnáth am ón Aoine 27 D. Fómhair go dtí an Luan an 6 Samhain. Beimid fós ag céiliúradh Oíche Shamhna ar an Aoine.

Having missed a number of days last week due to weather issues and planned closure on Friday, we have decided to forego our usual half day on Friday next. Our school will close at the usual time of 1.30 (infant classes) or 2.30 (senior classes) and will reopen on Monday 6th November. We will still celebrate the traditions of Halloween on that day however and Children are invited to dress up in Halloween costumes.

Craft fair / Margadh Geimhridh na scoile 2017.

Beidh Margadh Geimhridh na scoile ar siúl ar an Aoine 1 Nollaig 2017.

Our school’s Christmas craft fair will take place on Friday the 1st of December 2017.

Please check for decent quality, unwanted items in your attic that you may consider donating to the school’s stall.

Páirceáil agus an aimsir  /  Parking and weather conditions.

Míle buíochas dóibh siúd ar fad atá ag claoi leis na rialacha pairceála taobh amuigh den scoil gach lá. Táimid ar fad ag obair le chéile chun a chinntiú gurbh áit shábháilte í Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn d’ár bpáistí ar fad.

Many thanks to all who have helped to keep traffic flowing outside our school every morning. We are working together to ensure the safety of all associated with our school – ESPECIALLY our children.

The following issues need to be addressed,

  • A number of cars are parking in our drop off area for an extended period every morning – this causes huge traffic problems as cars are unable to pass one another. Our drop off area is the area between the two speed bumps on Murmont Avenue. Parents are to stop, help their children from their cars, safely drive away again.
  • A number of cars are driving down the avenue to try to get their children closer to school. We ask parents, guardians etc. not to do this regardless of the weather conditions.
  • Please do not park on the grass or in a place that inhibits the vision of people leaving the school.

DO NOT TURN YOUR CAR AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE AVENUR AT ANY TIME.

Please ensure that anyone collecting children are aware of the above

As we now face into the winter season, we would strongly recommend that parents invest in appropriate wet weather items of clothing for their children. Experience has taught us that children who have plastic rain pants and rain jackets on wet, stormy days are the happiest children in the school!!!

Bíodh saoire slán sábhálta agaibh ar fad. (Have a safe holiday).
