The children in Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn are partaking in various exciting, different, fun, scientific activities throughout Science Week.

On Monday 14/11, we are honoured to have Robert Hill from the Armagh Observatory visit our school and give a 3D presentation to the children. He will also be providing rocket building workshops for the children from Rang 2- Rang 4. Just before we broke up for the midterm, the children from R4&5 – R6 attended a workshop on Food for Thought with Eimear Fergusson from UCC.                                                                                                                On Tuesday 15/11, the children from Naíonáin Bheaga, Naíonáin Mhóra & Rang 1 will be partaking in Lego workshops with Kathy a member of the Kids’ Brickx Club.                                                                                                          On Friday 18/11, Naíonain Mhóra will be dressing like scientists for their day of experiments and scientific fun.      On Friday 25/11, the Lismore Mobile Science Unit is visiting the school. Each class will receive an hour long workshop with their personnel ranging from CSI Classroom, Chemistry Kids, Guts of Digestion and Junior Science.

We ask that every child from Naíonáin Bheaga to R6 brings in €3 each to the class teacher which covers all the exciting events of Our Science Week. This is a heavily subsidised rate and we are very grateful to the Parents’ Association who have subsidised the events for our Science Week.                                                                                                        Le gach dea-mhéin,
